Obituary of Ruth Hilda Graves

Ruth Hilda Graves, age 90 of Bethpage, passed away, Sunday, December 11, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Rev. Mike Potts and Rev. Ron Ullrich officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 15th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Bethpage Upper Cemetery, with Brandon Troutt, Kevin Barker, Jeff Cooper, Mike Scott, David Woodard, and Henry Holleman serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethpage United Methodist Church, 3140 Hwy 31-E, Bethpage, TN  37022.

Mrs. Graves was born November 16, 1932 in Bethpage to the late Ollie Lee Carter and Beuna Mai Gregory Carter.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Elbert Delano Graves; brother, Glenn F. Carter; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Gross Graves.  She is survived by son, G. Steven Graves (Teresa) of Bethpage; nieces, Mary Clark Carter of Bethpage and Elizabeth Love O’Connell of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Mary Ruth Dixon (Kenny), Haley Barker (Kevin), Glenda Troutt (Brandon), Amanda Ross-Gregory (Kelly), and Sara Scott (Mike); and great grandchildren, Eli Barker, Tate Barker, Maddie Troutt, Millie Troutt, Brooklyn Parker, Bridger Gregory, Harper Scott, Greyson Scott, and Jaylyn Cantrell.  She was a life-time member of Bethpage United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Graves was an avid farmer and gardener and loved being with her family.   She was owner of E. D. Graves Grocery in Bethpage, helped in elections, and worked for Ralph McDonald Studios.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
