Richard Yankowski

Obituary of Richard Yankowski

Richard Yankowski, 82, loving husband and father, died on December 18, 2022, surrounded by the love and care of his wife and daughters.

Richard, the son of immigrants, spent most of his life in Brooklyn and Staten Island, NY, before retiring in Tennessee. Richard was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He worked tirelessly his entire life to provide for his family, working his way up from the mailroom at Manhattan Life to an underwriter. He gave selflessly to his family so that they would have a better life, always putting their well-being and happiness before his. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, Saturday morning breakfast at the Waffle House, dancing the Merengue with his wife, and spending time with his daughters.

Although Richard's health took a sudden turn in the end, he remained in high spirits surrounded by loved ones - and for him, it was always "another wonderful day."

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Maria, of forty-seven years; daughters, Lisa Yankowski, Jessica Yankowski, and Michele Briant; sibling Ed Yankowski and his wife Ann; grandchildren Alexandria and Aiden Briant.

Richard practiced philanthropy throughout his life; in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause he felt passionate about. https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now
