Born and raised on a farm in Dark Hollow Macon County, Carvie Dean Gann has always been a farmer at heart. He took pride in the family farm in Cottontown. He loved the outdoors, working cattle, mending fences and any other activities that had him outside on the farm even on the hottest and coldest days of the year.

He was a longtime member of Cottontown Church of Christ and Hartsville Pike Church of Christ where he served as an elder.  He served his church, his community and anyone in need.  He was a true servant and blessing to his family, friends, church and anyone that knew him.

Dean was born January 11, 1936 in Macon County to the late Olma Dillard Gann and Willie Mae Martin Gann.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Helen Taylor Gann; and sister, Kathleen Davenport.  He is survived by sons, Steve Gann (Judy) of Lebanon, Stuart Gann (Kimberly) of Cottontown; brother, Ronald Gann (Linda) of Cottontown; sister, Brinda Watson of Cottontown, two grandchildren, Cody Gann and Troy Bond; and three great grandchildren, Noah Gann, Maravich Bond, and Jon Rosshirt.

His memories live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family.  His legacy will carry on forever reminding us to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.
