Obituary of Margaret Belle Whiticker

Margaret Belle Whiticker, age 71 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 2^nd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Elder Ronnie Tennant officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1^st from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 2^nd from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.   Interment will follow the service at Drane Cemetery, with Garrett Griggs, Ethan Simpson, Peyton Griggs, Nolan Harding, Sam Harding, Erin Simpson, Shawn Simpson, Chad Griggs, and Nate Harding serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feed Sumner Food Bank and Ministry, 1121 Gregory Drive, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mrs. Whiticker was born May 2, 1951 in Memphis, TN to the late Harry Wilson Climer, Sr. and Marjorie Armenta Beasley Climer.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bill Douglas Whiticker; brothers, Thomas Climer, Harry “Bubba” Climer, and Steve Climer; sister-in-law, Harriette Climer; and brother-in-law, Frank Shelton.  She is survived by daughters, Christie Simpson (Shawn) of Gallatin, Rachel Griggs (Chad) of Gallatin, and Amy Harding (Nate) of Murfreesboro; sister, Linda Jo Shelton of Franklin, TN; sisters-in-law, Patsy Climer of Gallatin and Linda Climer of Nashville; 6 grandchildren,  Garrett Griggs (Kaitlyn), Ethan Simpson, Peyton Griggs, Nolan Harding, Sam Harding, and Erin Simpson; and 2 great grandchildren, Savannah Griggs and Summer Griggs.  Mrs. Whiticker graduated from U.T. Martin with a degree in Education.  She retired from the State of Tennessee’s Unemployment Office after many years of service.  Mrs. Whiticker loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She remained very close with her college friends the “UTM Gang” whom she spent summer vacations and special occasions together.   Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
