Obituary of Tazewell Anne "TazAnne" Ford

Tazewell Anne “TazAnne” Ford, age 86 of Franklin, TN, formerly of Gallatin, passed away January 27, 2023.  Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Saturday, February 11th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Historic Gallatin Cemetery.

Mrs. Ford was born February 7, 1936 in McAllen, TX to the late William Tazewell Upshaw and Annie Lee Dunn Upshaw.  She is preceded in death by husband, Tyler G. Ford, Jr.; and sister, Violet Heaney.  She is survived by son, Tyler Ford III of Gallatin; daughter, Elizabeth Anne “Betsy” Fuqua (Jeffrey) of Franklin; brother, Dr. James Jeremiah “Jerry” Upshaw (Grace) of Memphis; and two grandchildren, Bailey McMahan (Brannen) and Davis Fuqua.  Mrs. Ford was a former teacher for the Sumner County School System.  She had a passion for service, history and historic preservation.  She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Sumner Regional Medical Center for over 30 years.  TazAnne was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, General Jethro Sumner Chapter, for over 53 years where she served in many different roles including Regent and Tennessee Cumberland District Director.  She was the chapter’s first honorary chapter regent.  She was also a proud member of The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. TazAnne was on the board of Historic Rose Mont, Cragfont and Bledsoe’s Lick Park.  She along with her husband, Tyler, were founding directors of Sumner Academy.  TazAnne was a long-time member of Gallatin First United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historic Rose Mont.
