Obituary of Reggie Marshall, Jr.

Marshall, Reginald "Reggie" Alvin, Jr., age 53 of Hendersonville, formerly Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, after a lengthy illness at Alive Hospice of Nashville, Tennessee.

Reggie was a 1988 graduate of Heath High School in Paducah, Kentucky. He was the quarterback, winning State Championship with a team of dedicated young men in 1986. Reggie was a sports enthusiast. He was the owner of a Tennessee business; having been forced to sell after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Reggie was the life of the party with a winning personality and great sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, Madison and Ben Marshall of Murfreesboro, TN; his mother, Sheila Kennedy of Hendersonville, TN – stepfather Ken Kennedy; his father, Reginald Alvin Marshall, Sr. of Henderson, KY; his three brothers, Joey Marshall of Henderson, KY, Jamie Marshall of Paris, TN, and Jeff Marshall; maternal grandmother, Lillie (Nanny) Pugh of Metropolis, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Reggie was also blessed with special lifelong friends that were an extension of family to him. Some of which gave him a Celebration of Life event recently in Paducah, which he found overwhelming.  

The family would like to thank Vanderbilt Medical Center, many doctors and healthcare workers, Alive Hospice of Nashville and all their dedicated staff, and a special thank you to all his friends (extended family) for making his life so special at the end.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, 2229 North Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee with Brother Scott Moore officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow the service in the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
