We will always remember Roger for the beautiful Christmas tree whose needles fell off before we got it in the house. Much later he brought me very wilted black roses to say he was sorry about the tree. A most pleasant memory of a nice guy. May he rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences from the Wiles family. I am a cousin of Roger's and some of my earliest and fondest memories are from my time spent with Roger's family. I was a few years younger and certainly looked up to Roger, he was so "Cool". I have been very moved learning of all the great work Roger did helping and caring for others. Bettie, Terri, Jason, Because Roger and I took the Franklin-Covey Time Management Class at Southgate Church of Christ led by Charlie Patchett on October 30, 1988 I can remanence about our brother Roger. Roger was baptized on Friday December 21, 1989. I remember running with Roger the next Day. We were jogging on 7 hills Road in Hanover and Roger said to me; "I was baptized last night." I gave Roger a big hug-mid jog. Roger led the 1st Mission trip many of us ever took to Jamaica. Mine was in August 1990. Roger had a BIG heart for the least and always seemed to identify where to secure materials and where we could be most effective. Roger even preached! He did what was needed. Many, in heaven are rejoicing as Roger hears, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest." Take comfort believers - "we will go to him". Roger Sidwell lived a life that changed me. Family you are all in my prayers.

My deepest condolence to Betty and family. I got to meet Roger through Gary Swarm. I went on a mission trip to Ocho Rios Jamaica. We build a house for a lady up in the mountains. I still remember our trip to and from this place up in the mountains it was quite an adventure. Our Taxi had a little station wagon and of course there weren't enough seats for all of us so Roger would volunteer to lay in the trunk and of course if we got caught by the police probably would have gotten in big trouble and when we got to the end of the road close to this house that we were building we had to walk another quarter mile up the side of the mountain just to get to this place. Roger also forever changed my view on homelessness. I got to help serve with Roger food to the homeless people on the street we actually went out and gave them the food right where they were even went under a bridge to feed somebody. I also remember church service that Roger held at the bus stop on Sunday morning. He's a lover of people and he did it really well. Him and Betty are Great cooks too I stayed with them at the rental house in Ochoa Rios and I still remember the eggs and papaya we would have for breakfast which were delicious. Roger knew where to find the local fruits which were outstanding.

Please accept our deepest condolences in the passing of Roger. He had a deep impact on us and will be greatly missed. We recall with very fond memories our trip to Vacs, Hungary and Germany in 1996 to build houses with Jimmy Carter. Prior to the trip, Roger told me he was of Hungarian decent and would handle the Hungarian part of our trip (and I would handle the German part of our trip). Little did I know at that time that what he really meant was that he knew only one Hungarian word, Paprika!!! That didn’t fare well with the Hungarian police when Roger was pulled over for going the wrong way on a one way street in downtown Budapest! I thought we were all going to jail! Anyway, in true Roger fashion it all worked out and we had a great trip! Gary & Linda Schworm

So sorry to hear of Roger's passing. I worked with Roger for 30 years and always enjoyed his friendship and sense of humor. We have just heard of Roger's passing and have been remembering the great good times at work. Condolences to the family. Steve Brown
