Obituary of James "Jimmy" Alexander

James (Jimmy) Alexander, age 86, of Gallatin, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023.  Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 20^th at Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, KY 42202.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.

He was born February 8th, 1937 to John Nelson Alexander and Martha Lynn Langford in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Jimmy attended Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee in 1955 where he met the love of his life, Betty Anne Stuart. They married the following year and had three wonderful children.

Jimmy was a life-long farmer.  He loved fixing up tractors and engines, being outdoors, hunting, and having fun adventures in Alaska and Canada where he met many lifelong friends whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his children, Mary Lynn Stratton, Anne Adams, and Susanna Armbruster, J. J. Mireles (his unofficial adopted son), his grandchildren, Alex Stratton, Katie Collins, and Bailey Bingham, and many other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Anne, parents John and Martha, his brother John Nelson Alexander Jr (Blue), and his sister Jenny Gardner Alexander.  The obituary was lovingly written by his family.
