Obituary of Vivian Comer

Vivian Christine McDaniel Comer, age 83 of Lebanon, passed away on April 1, 2023. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Glenn Denton, is 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment to follow in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers: grandsons, Derrick Comer, David Brewington, Hunter Rather, Chase Collinsworth, Dalton Massey, and Dylan Massey. Honorary Pallbearer: Phillip Lea. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.

               Mrs. Comer is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Thurman Comer; father: Kelly Beecher McDaniel; mother: Pauline McDaniel; brother: Kelly B. McDaniel; sister: Louise McDaniel; grandson: David Wayne Comer Jr.; and great-granddaughters: Cassie O’Bryan and Haily Jade Comer.

               She is survived by sons: Mike Comer and David (Cathy) Comer; daughters: Tammy Comer (Martin) Rather and Denise Comer (Scott) Massey; grandchildren: Derrick (Etta) Comer, Hunter (Brittney) Rather, Chase (Charlie) Collinsworth, Dalton Massey, Dylan Massey, David (Connie) Brewington, Jennifer Brewington (Brian) Ramono, and Sara Comer; great-grandchildren: Austin, Ayden, and Addison Brewington, Jayden and Zayden Comer, Carley and Caleb Comer; Townes Rather, and Noah Collinsworth; sisters: Kyle McDaniel (Thomas) Vance, Judy McDaniel Richardson; and brother: Robert McDaniel.

               Mrs. Comer was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church of Norene TN. She worked at Lebanon Garment and Texas Boot Factory. She was a member of the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center where she loved to play cards including Rook, along with Hand and Foot. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren who called her “other nanny”.

               A special thanks to the staff at Wilson Manor Assisted Living Facility and Alive Hospice for the loving care and attention given Mrs. Vivian during her residency at the facility and especially during her illness. In lieu of flowers, please make Memorial Donations to Alive Hospice.
