Obituary of Lois Marie Bryan

Lois Marie Bryan, 78, of Pleasant View, TN passed away April 12, 2023. She was born in Nashville, TN on June 29, 1944. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Dorothy Lee Kent Boyle, and her husband, Gary Don Bryan.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”   -2 Corinthians 12 : 9 -10

Lois Bryan had a purely joyful heart. She delighted in every hardship life could provide. She danced on arthritic knees, sang the praises of the Lord with weak lungs, and somehow found a way to hear His calling with deaf ears. It was an awesome thing to behold. Jesus’s presence marked her very being.

We will not decry the thorns she was so grateful to bear. Many people claim to know God. Many people claim to have felt his love. But few know how to emulate His servant’s heart with such Grace and understanding. She held no record of wrongdoing and expected no thanks for her efforts. She took real satisfaction in seeing others succeed, and always tried to give more than she had

We will rejoice in her ascension to her heavenly home and do our best to navigate her earthly absence with grace. Brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends, we are forever changed by knowing her.  We love you, Lois! We’ll see you again.

She is survived by her children, Darin (Kat) Bryan, Angela (Raymond) Pridemore, David Bryan, and Tish Bryan; grandchildren Olivia, Justin, Jared, Autumn, Abby, Dorothy, Ava, Austin; great grandchild, Andre; siblings, Greg (Karin) Casem, Artie (Lidia) Casem, Jan (Doug) Neil; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Lois Larson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Hartsville Memorial Gardens conducted by Bro. Joey Myers.
