Obituary of William "Gean" Smith

Mr. William “Gean” Smith age 93, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 31, 1929 to the late Winnie and Pearl Smith.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Foshal Smith and Henry Smith.

Gean is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Smith; children, Christine (Steven) Tomes, Tracey (Douglas) Taylor, and Jerry (Julie) Smith; grandchildren, Casey (Mackenzie) Tomes, Channing Tomes, Corbin Tomes, Haydn Taylor, Lillian Taylor, Miles Smith, Carter Smith, and Elizabeth Smith; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Tomes, Meredith Tomes, and Arlo Tomes.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville with Bro. Terry McCormick officiating. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 19th from 4:00-8:00 PM and Thursday, April 20th from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be Friday, April 21st at 9:00 AM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
