Obituary of William Paul Timbs

William Paul “Papa” Timbs passed away on May 12, 2023 at age 84. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Ronnie Gaines and Brother Tom Hasty, is 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Wilson County Memorial will follow the service. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers: Daniel Davis, Jordan Brison, and Scott Melton. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the service at 1 p.m.

               William Paul Timbs was born in Walter Hill TN to Paulene Graham and Elmer Timbs. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Timbs retired from the United States Post Office after 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, mowing yards, and being with his kids and grandkids. He is survived by children: Mike (Rachel) Timbs and Michelle Murrell; grandchildren: Ryan Brison, Joseph Powell, Carla (Daniel) Davis, Hunter (Raiel) Wilbanks, Spenser Timbs, Joseph Swafford, Brandon (Traci) Brison, Caitlin (Scott) Peterson, and Jordan Brison; great-grandchildren: Sylus Powell, Sawyer Powell, Ava Wilbanks, Layla Wilbanks, and Noah Davis; nieces and nephews: Cathy Corley, Kelly Clemmons, and Danny Timbs; and special friends: Phyllis Ann Pulley, Teresa (Alan) Weisbrot, and Clara Miller. He is preceded in death by parents Paulene and Elmer Timbs, brothers Charles Timbs and James Howard Timbs, son-in-law Vernon Murrell, step-daughter Pamela Crutcher, grandson Paul Wright, and wife Betty Flatt Timbs.
