Obituary of Ruby Jean Cantrell

Mrs. Ruby Jean Cantrell, age 86 of Gallatin, Tennessee went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Ruby was born on May 1, 1937 in Livingston, Tennessee to the late E. M. and Mae Dishman.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Cantrell; son, Earl Cantrell; five brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Cantrell, Susie (Randall) Abbott, Betty Bailey, and David (Amanda) Cantrell; brother, Bill Dishman; grandchildren, Chad Cantrell, Donnie Carmack, Sr., Adam Abbott, Michael Abbott, David Cantrell, Jr., Caroll Cantrell, Corey Daughtry, Robert Bailey, Jessica Bailey, Tabitha Bailey, Alora Cantrell Adams, Leah Cantrell; several great-granchildren and fur baby, Tully.

Ruby loved to talk to everyone and enjoyed the company of others. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a big heart with so much love to give. Her family will always remember her witty sense of humor.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 18^th at 1:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 7109 TN-25, Cross Plains, Tennessee with Pastor Russell Noss officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Chad Cantrell, Donnie Carmack, Adam Abbott, Michael Abbott, Corey Daughtry and Robert Bailey serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 18^th from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains, Tennessee.
