Obituary of Shirley Mitchell

Shirley Johnson Mitchell passed away on May 18, 2023 at age 82.  Private Graveside Service is Monday, May 22, 2023 at Wilson County Memorial. Family will serve as Pallbearers.

               Shirley Ann Johnson Mitchell was born in Norene TN to Ollie Dee Cunningham and Dallas Johnson. She graduated from Watertown High School. She married Don Mitchell and together they raised two children. Mrs. Mitchell was a wife and homemaker and also worked at Precision Rubber and Wynnes until retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband Don Mitchell, parents Ollie Dee and Dallas Johnson, sister Deborah Gayle Johnson, brothers Bedford Johnson and William C. “Brownie” Johnson, and granddaughter Erica Petty. She is survived by children: Donette (Bill) Petty and Tim (Dorie) Mitchell; grandchildren: Dwayne Garcia, Wade (Camille) Mitchell, Cale (Caroline) Mitchell, and Kelsi Petty; great-grandchildren: Hayden Petty, Kristen West, Madasyn Garcia, Cross Mitchell, Crew Mitchell, and Camp Mitchell; great-great grandchildren: Ryker and Callie Ray West; siblings: Linda (Wayne) Barrett, Elaine Cox, and Riley V. “Snookie” Johnson; and sister-in-law: Lelah Johnson.
