Obituary of Ellie Lackey

Ellie Lackey passed away on May 23, 2023 at age 73. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Leonard Diebole, is 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.

               Ellen Patricia “Ellie” Lackey was born in Bakersville CA to Ada Dunkin and Jimmy Young. She married her best friend, Bo Lackey. Ellie pursued her interest in holistic healing into certification as an iridologist and herbologist. She enjoyed antiquing and collecting arrowheads. Ellie worked for LSSD as a bus driver for more than 20 years.

               Ellen is survived by her husband, Bo Lackey; children: Chasity (Brett) Goodner, Rick (Janine) Dunnam II, and Brittney (Jake) Lackey Hurdle Murphy; and grandchildren: Hannah Goodner, Madison (Joe) Hardin, Ricky Dunnam III, John Dunnam, Gabriel Dunnam; half-sister: Carolyn; mother and father-in law: Teresa and Ronnie Lackey; sister-in-law: Tina (Eleuterio) Dominguez; nieces and nephews: Jonathan and Zachary Pena, Minchey George, Jamie (Zach) Hebert, and Dakota Whitsell; and best friend: Donna Whitsell.
