Obituary of J.E. Hawkins Jr

J.E. Hawkins, Jr. passed away on September 3, 2023 at age 77. The Graveside Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens  

               Jesse Earl “J.E.” Hawkins, Jr. was born in Lebanon TN to Katherine Roberts Hawkins and Jess Hawkins. He served in the United States Navy. He earned a BS, Master’s Degree, and EDS degree in Administration and Supervision. He was an educator for more than 20 years at Monterey High School and 10 plus years at Jere Whitson.

                He enjoyed his Honda motorcycle, playing golf, and supporting UT Vols football. He is survived by his wife Lynn Garrison Hawkins; sister: Becky (Kenneth) Trusty; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; and faithful companion: Fudgie. He is preceded in death by infant son Rodney Ethan Hawkins, and parents Katherine and Jess Hawkins.
