Obituary of Bennett "Benny" Adams, Jr.

Bennett “Benny” Adams, Jr. age 71 of Gallatin, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Friday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. at United Church, 1256 Clear Lake Meadows Blvd., Gallatin, TN  37066, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 28th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, 100 E. Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN  37066, and Friday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.   Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with the Officers of the Gallatin Police Department serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Place of Hope, 105 N. James Campbell Blvd., Columbia, TN  38401 or to United Church, 1256 Clear Lake Meadows Blvd., Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Adams was born May 22, 1952 in Davidson County to the late Bennett Clarendon Adams, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Martin Adams.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Emily Adams; and sister, Judy Mincey.  He is survived by wife of 22 years, Rita Darby Adams of Gallatin; sons, Bennett C. Adams, III (Jennifer) of Rockdale, TX and Wayne Hall (Beth) of Gallatin; daughter, Barbara Shults (Terry) of Cookeville; brother, Johnny Russell (Carolyn) of Gallatin; sisters, Lynda Vincent (Leslie) of Gallatin and Brenda Roberts (Ronald) of Bethpage; brother-in-law, Marshall Mincey of Gallatin; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and beloved pets, June and Brandi.  Benny retired from the Gallatin Police Department after over 45 years of service.  He was a member of United Church.  He loved his family, his church family, and his brothers in blue.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
