Obituary of Frank Flynn

 

Frank Michael Flynn, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 15 following a brief illness. A respected farmer and beloved husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Flynn spent his life on Bloomfield Farm in Gallatin, Tennessee, where he raised beef cattle and burley tobacco. In addition to operating a successful farm, he was an owner of Gallatin Tobacco Warehouse and served on a number of boards, including the Burley Stabilization Corporation and White House Utility District. 

 

Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Susanna Flynn and baby grandson Ryan Timm. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Lee Flynn, daughters Rebecca Kirkham (Shawn) of Nashville, Sarah Timm (Josh), of Brentwood, and Elizabeth Lehpamer (Brian) of Raleigh, North Carolina, his sister Janan Dorris of Gallatin, brother Pat Flynn (Amy) of Nashville and grandchildren Eleanor and Libby Kirkham, Anna Rose and Luke Timm, and Catherine, Caroline, Charlotte and John Lehpamer.

 

Known for his deep love of both his family and his land, Mr. Flynn will be remembered for his keen intellect, dry wit and generous heart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.

 

Visitation will be held Monday, February 19, from 3-7 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville with a brief visitation from 1-2 p.m. A private burial will follow the service.
