Obituary of LaVerta Farley

LaVerta Farley passed away on April 6, 2010 at age 82. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 8th and from 1 p.m. until service on Friday. The chapel service, conducted by Reverend John Hunn and Reverend Barry Ellis, is 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Josiah McDaniel, Erik McDaniel, Peter Keating, and James Maxwell Carter. Honorary Pallbearer: Dr. D. Ray Farley.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The 15th Judicial District, Children"s Advocacy Center (615.449.7975). Her legacy includes two children: James (Martha) Farley and Marie Farley; grandchildren: Maggie F. (Erik) McDaniel, Angie F. (Peter) Keating, Rachel M. Farley, James Maxwell Carter, and Jessica R. Carter; two brothers: William Alvin (Marion) Wilson Jr. and Elton Wilson; brother-in-law: Dr. Ray Farley; great-grandchildren: Josiah McDaniel, Abbie McDaniel, Olivia McDaniel, Kiley McDaniel, Jedidiah McDaniel, Graham Keating, Martha Amelia Keating, Annabelle Lee Keating, Caleb James Lander, and James Maxwell Carter Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by husband James Lee Farley, parents William Alvin and Lola Ethel Humble Wilson Sr., brother-in-law Leonard (Marion) Ballard, and sister-in-law Nannie (C.M.) Smith.
