Obituary of Helen A. Pelt

Helen A. Pelt, 88, of Newton, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in the Quality Care Rehabilitation Center, Lebanon TN. Born in Franklin, NJ, Mrs. Pelt was a life long resident in Newton. She attended Franklin High School and graduated from Sussex County Vocational. She was a clerk at the A&P supermarket in Newton until her retirement in 1993, after 43 years of service. Mrs. Pelt was a member of the Saint Josephs Church of Newton since 1952. She loved reading and music. Wife of the late Charles A. Pelt and daughter of the late Phillip and Justina (Durina) Kabatra. Mrs. Pelt is survived by her son Robert C. Pelt and his wife Diane Pelt, of Lebanon TN, her sisters Ann Zayacz, of Franklin, Mary Case, of Sussex and her brother Joseph Kabatyr and his wife Lorraine Kabatyr of Franklin. Two grandchildren, Jennifer (Pelt) Musich and her husband Dr. David Musich of Anchorage KY, and Travis Pelt and his wife Tracy Vogel Pelt of Glen Burnie, MD. Four great-grandchildren, Maxim, Connor and Lauren Musich of Anchorage, KY and Jacob X. Pelt of Glen Burnie MD. Mrs. Pelt is also survived by four sister-in-laws, Emily Kabatra and Lois Kabatra of Franklin NJ and Mary Pelt of Jacksonville, FL, and Elizabeth Pelt of Newton. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, 17 Elm Street, in Newton.
