Obituary of Jerald Thomas Phillips

Jerald Phillips passed away on September 3, 2011 at age 68. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and from noon until the service on Wednesday. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Billy Trice, is 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Norene TN. Pallbearers: Harold "Scoot" Edwards, Jackie Jenkins, Tommy Phillips, Bubba Phillips, Gordy Graves, and Robert Hutson. Honorary Pallbearers: WEMA, Corps of Engineers, Charles Morris Jones, Randall Hall, and Emmanuel Harris. Mr. Phillips worked for the Corps of Engineers for 33 years, served with Civil Defense for 17 years, and was a County Commissioner for 8 years. Survivors include wife of 48 years, Patsy Agee Phillips; children: Cindy (Bobby) Lackey, Randall (Britt) Phillips, and Micheal (Tammy) Phillips; step-mother: Jean Phillips; brother-in-law: Vaughn Akins; grandchildren: Pamela (Bobby) Pruitte, Rebecca Fisher, Jeff Shaffer, Micheal Shaffer, Bryson Phillips, Alyssia Lackey, Branton Phillips, and Logan Lackey; and great-grandsons: Aaidan Bollenbeck and Jesse Shaffer. He is preceded in death by father James Thomas "Buddy" Phillips, mother Eura Mae Hall Phillips, and great-grandson Justin Dakota Pruitte.
