Obituary of Sarah Jane Mitchener

Sarah Jane Mitchener, age 71 of Gallatin, passed away Friday June 26, 2015. Celebration of Life Service will be Monday June 29th at 12:00 noon at Bluegrass Baptist Church in Hendersonville, with Pastor Bill Overstreet officiating. Visitation will be Monday June 29th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Following the service, lunch will be served at the church and then after lunch there will be Drinks at the Creek (613 Autumndale Drive, Gallatin). Mrs. Mitchener was born April 6, 1944 in Springfield, KY, to the late Thomas Osbourne and Anna Laura Wheatley Osbourne. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Dick Osbourne, and Donnie Osbourne; and sisters, Betty O'Daniel, and Lucinda Strange. She is survived by husband of 30 years, Louis Dillon Mitchener; daughters, Meredith Lea Ford (Dave) of Duluth, GA, Melissa Ellen McCurry (Charles) of Gallatin, and Amanda Jane O'Mahoney (Sean) of Louisville, KY; step-sons, Louis D. Mitchener III (Kathy) of Richmond, VA, and John Scott Mitchener of Gallatin; brothers, J. T. Osbourne (Judy) of Balboa Island, CA, Damion Osbourne (Judy) of Panama City Beach, FL, and Bob Osbourne (Phyllis) of Phoenix City, Georgia; sisters, Barbara Quam of Bardstown, KY, Nancy Tatum (Larry) of Lebanon, KY, Imelda Woodruff (Woody) of Laguna Hills, CA, and Sally Milburn (Roger) of Springfield, KY; mother-in-law, Polly Mitchener; sister-in laws, Barbara Kay Osbourne, and Wanda Mitchener; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Elise Green, and Mary Maye; and 6 grandchildren, Kennedy Marie McCurry, Sean Finbar O'Mahoney, Sharia Danielle McCurry, Caroline Jane O'Mahoney, Jonathan David "J. D.", Ford, Lena Victoria McCurry, Austin Mitchener, Hunter Mitchener, Knox Mitchener, and Corrine Mitchener. Sarah Jane Mitchener managed Bluegrass Apartments for 27 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sarah Cannon Research, Aseracare Hospice, or Union Elementary School.
