Obituary of Sharry Baird Hager

Sharry Hager passed away on August 4, 2011 at age 67. The Memorial Service, conducted by Reverend David Hesson, is 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at First United Methodist Church. Visitation at the church from 2 p.m. until the service. Memorial Donations: March of Dimes (1101 Kermit Dr. #201, Nashville TN 37217-5108, 615.399.3200). She was a 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School where she was a cheerleader. She was runner-up in the National Cheerleading Competition in Florida her senior year. She was a graduate of Birmingham Southern and while there was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She won Favorite in the Miss Southern Accent pageant. Mrs. Hager taught for thirty-plus years, twenty-seven of them with the Lebanon Special School District. She taught 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies at Walter J. Baird. She was a member and officer of the ADK Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also taught Sunday School. Mrs. Hager was active in the March of Dimes Foundation Survivors include husband of 34 years, Bill Hager; children: Allyson Collinsworth and Will (Holly Liter) Hager; brother: Charles (Sue) Baird Jr. of Jacksonville NC; grandchildren: Ella and Hayley Collinsworth; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by parents Charles and Erma Lannom Baird.
