Obituary of Vernon Pope

Vernon Pope passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at age 87. He was the owner of Lebanon Auto Body and Paint Shop and also drove a truck for Auto Parts and Service and Texas Boot Company for many years. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, July 19th and from 11 a.m. until service on Tuesday. The chapel service, conducted by Brother George Wallace and Brother Richard Neal, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as Pallbearers. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margie Lynch Pope; sons: Ray Pope and Don Pope; brother: Lewis (Etta) Pope; grandchildren: Ray (Tammy) Pope Jr., Donnie (Christy) Pope, Jason (April) Pope, Erica Webb, and James Pope; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Wilbur and Letha Obera Andrews Pope, brothers Lloyd and Wesley Pope, and sister Mabelle Balding.
