Obituary of David Randall Keltner

David Keltner, age 54, passed away on April 3, 2014. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. The Funeral Service, conducted by Reverend David Hesson, is Friday at 2 p.m., First United Methodist Church (415 W. Main St., Lebanon TN). Visitation will be at the church on Friday from noon until the service. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers: Kyle Spicer, Shawn Fox, Doug Philyaw, Gary Campbell, Ben Benjamin, John Ferrell, Carl Kluetz, and Steve Beins. Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Keltner, Michael Keltner, Gary Curry, Jason Curry, and Roger Farley. Memorial Donations: Dave Keltner Fund, Lebanon Breakfast Rotary, PO Box 544, Lebanon TN, 37088. Mr. Keltner was very active in the community. He served in Leadership Wilson, beginning in the Class of 1996, then on the Board of Directors from 2000-2007, President of LWA from 2000-2002, Treasure of the Board 2002-2003, Vice President 2003-2004, and President of the Board from 2004-2005. He served as Lebanon Breakfast Rotary Club president 1999/2000; he was a member of the Rotary from May 1996-June 2010. Mr. Keltner served on the Chamber Board 1998-2000; Education Chair 1999 and 2000. Under Dave's leadership, the Friend of Education Award was implemented. In 2001, Dave was awarded the Business Person of the Year Award for his work and professional business leadership with Prospect, Inc. and awarded the Friend of Education Award in 2003. Mr. Keltner was born in Columbia KY. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Minor in Human Services, Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University, a Master of Arts in Child Development and Family Living from Western Kentucky University. He was President/CEO of Cerqa at the time of his passing. Previously he worked as Director of Marketing at Prospect and was Vice President for MediaMail. He is survived by wife: Tanda Keltner; daughter: Brandy (Kyle) Spicer; parents: Simpson and Alma Keltner; siblings: Peggy (Gary) Curry and Bill (Sondra) Keltner; nephews: Jason Curry, Michael (Amanda) Keltner; and niece: Sarah Keltner.
