Obituary of James L. Deffendall

Jim Deffendall passed away on July 30, 2009 at age 82. He served in the US Army during WWII in Austria and Germany, was a member of the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, and the Wilson County Republican Party, and had worked for Texas Eastern. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. The church service, conducted by Reverend Michael O'Bryan, is 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Visitation at the church is from 1 p.m. until service. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers: Ann Tomlinson, George Lowery, Eddie Testament, Jerry Phares, Bud Grubbs, Red Goodman, and Larry Stone. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Welk Deffendall; children: Joyce (Terry) Stafford, Danny (Prissy) Deffendall, Jim (Carmen) Deffendall, Mark (Patti) Deffendall, Kelly (Kristy) Deffendall, and Bill (Martha) Deffendall; grandchildren: Cory (Kellie) Deffendall, Lindsay (Jeremy) Mosley, David Deffendall, Jennifer (Jim) Stroud, Brianna Caitlan, Sharon Huppenthal, Jon Trusty, Joanna Trusty, Patrick Deffendall, Jessie Deffendall, Will, Gabe, and Madeline Deffendall; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Sewell, Sophie Mosley, and Lydia Deffendall. He is preceded in death by parents Otis and Elizabeth Biggs Deffendall, three brothers and one sister.
