Obituary of Herman Clay Martin

Clay Martin passed away on September 1, 2014 at age 89. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home on Friday from 12-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Kevin Medlin and Brother Rodney Haskin, is 11 a.m. Saturday September 6, 2014 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service. Pallbearers: Chad Cunningham, Corey Cunningham, Matt Sempsrott, Clint Sempsrott, Clay Eidson, Shawn Williams, Brian Blackburn, Justan Willoughby, Dexter Walker, and Josh Villalvazo. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Sam Crutcher, Dr. Roger McKinney, 7th Floor Staff at Summit, Ted Teagle, Pet Harper, Rachel and Mamie, and Choices of Tennessee. Mr. Martin is survived by wife of 64 years Betty Jo Carr Martin; daughters: Melissa D. Clemmons, Melanie (Roger) Knight, Martha L. Sempsrott, and Meridith (Bobby) Eidson; son: Joel Carr Martin; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers-in-law: Harry E. Carr and Crockett (Edith) Carr; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents John Wesley and Ada Bell Laine Martin, and siblings Sally Eskew, John Martin, Lillard Martin, James "Jim" Martin, and Frank Martin.
