Veteran's Day proved to be a fitting birthday. After graduating from Castle Heights Military Academy in 1965, he served in the Army from 1967 to 1969 touring in Vietnam. Upon his return, he married Gail Sanders Williams. Although the marriage ended it produced his proudest work, his only child, Aaron Matthew Williams. He co-founded Mid-State Sign Company in Murfreesboro, operating and managing it with his wife of 35 years, Pam Ledbetter Williams, from 1973 to 1993. Proving to be true partners in business and in life, he and Pam founded The Visual Edge/ Pinstriping by George thus allowing them to travel across the country, showcase his talent, meet people, and do what they loved. George was an avid and eclectic collector of antique treasures, stories, and friends. He was known for his artistic ability and quick wit. His humor was inherited by his son, appreciated by his wife, and tolerated by many. He loved bad television, good food, and to be surrounded by those he loved. He is survived by wife: Pam Ledbetter Williams; son: Aaron (Shawn Baughman) Williams; siblings: Phil (Deborah) Williams and Rejeanna (Gary) Buchannan; grandchildren: George Turner Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
