Obituary of Arthur William Ristow

Arthur "Art" William Ristow, Jr., age 67, of Elmwood TN, passed away on February 19, 2014. The Celebration of Life, is 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Sellars Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 p.m. until the service. Mr. Ristow was born October 19, 1946 in Oshkosh, WI. He joined the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Germany. He received the sharpshooter badge for the Rifle M-14 and the National Defense Service Medal. After leaving Germany, he went to Fort Campbell, KY where he was an instructor. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a Spec 5. Mr. Ristow retired from the Kroger Warehouse after 23 years. He was Lutheran in faith. He is survived by loving wife of 47 years: Donna Boles Ristow; devoted daughter: Ann Ristow; granddaughter: Grace Garcia; grandsons: Teddy Johnson, Will Johnson, and Thomas Bogle; best friend and bacon cooker: Stanley Wood, of Club Springs; longtime fishing friend: John Barrett, of Lebanon; honorary daughter: LaDonna High Brown; coloring buddy: Raeanne Jenkins; 2 DS Player: Hank Jenkins, all of Lebanon; sisters: Jean Lugg, of Phoenix AZ and Janet (Dave) Priebe of Oshkosh WI; brothers: Bob (Kim) Ristow of Appleton WI and Dr. Ron Ristow of Oconoto Falls WI; sisters-in-law: Sandy Ristow and Lorna Ristow, both of Oshkosh WI, and Billie Boles, Julie (Dr. Adam) Davis, and Geneva (Ray) Barrett, both of Lebanon TN; brothers-in-law: Norman (Barb) Mathe of Derby KS, Charles (Dianne) Boles of Gallatin TN, and Clyde Boles of Lebanon TN; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends: Mary Lambert, B.W. High, Nathan Donaldson, Jillian and Jerrika Brown; special friends from Highpoint Hospice: Dr. Leila August, Syreeda Smith, Candice Dunaway, Ashley Harris, Jennifer Jenkins, Geneva Barrett, Dr. Thomas Patten and staff, Dr. Rentz Dunn, Dr. Andrew Sager, Dr. Victor Byrd, Dr. Angelo Canonico, Tiffanie Wright and staff; and his beloved English Bulldog: Pudgy. Mr. Ristow is preceded in death by his parents Ann "Anna" M. Ristow and Arthur Ristow, sister Jeanette Mathe, brother Rich Ristow, nephew Tim Mathe, all from Oshkosh WI, and in-laws Estelle and Edd Boles, from Lebanon TN.
