Obituary of Mildred Burt

BURT, Mildred, age 82 of Mt. Juliet passed away April 7, 2011. She was a woman of boundless energy and deep emotion. She loved her children and family deeply. Her kind heart, gentle nature and beautiful sunshine smile will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know her. She was a member of Mt. Juliet First Baptist Church. Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Vernon Burt; parents, George Lee and Effie Mae Goodin; baby brother, Lee, Jr.; sister, Catherine McDonald; and brother, Johnny Lamar. She is survived by daughters, Diane Sumner, Glenda Boucher and Judy Howard, all of Mt. Juliet; son, Norman "Buddy" Paxton of Long Beach, CA; adopted daughter, Vicki Ellis of Mt. Juliet; brothers, Odell and Luke of Brandon, MS, Jimmy of Florence, MS, and Roger of AL; sisters, Myrtle (Alvin) Griffin of Brandon, MS, Lillian (R. C.) Mitchell and Martha (Delaine) George of Dekalb, MO, and Carolyn Goodin of TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; grandchildren, Eric Hesson, Jackie Brown, Lisa Bates, Denise Jones, Kristy Llamas, Tonya Parton, and Mark Paxton; and great-grandchildren, Erica, Dalton, Isaac, Victoria, Christina, Christopher "CJ", Hailey, Shawna, Ry'Laan and Chance. The family wishes to thank all of the Stay-Home Critical Care Hospice Staff for their attentiveness, care and support to the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Mt. Juliet First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 10th at 11 am at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. David Fallin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Eric Hesson, Chris Jones, Jimmy Ellis, Dalton Hodge, William Bates, George Howard III, Blaine Schooley, Mark Paxton and Courtney Elrod serving as pallbearers.
