Obituary of John Reed Hill

Born February 10th, 1959 in Knoxville, TN. John graduated from Lebanon High School in 1977. He attended Maryville College and graduated from Rhodes College in 1982 with a degree in Business. John started Cumberland Company Real Estate with his grandfather, Charlie Lee Teasley, Sr., and was currently owner of Buyer Solutions. He was past President of the Board of Realtors, named 1999 Realtor of the Decade, and a member of the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. John was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He and his two brothers were Eagle Scouts in Troop 434 of Lebanon. He served as the first Troop Committee Chairman for Troop 643 of Lebanon and remained a Troop Committee Member until the present. He also served on numerous Eagle Scout Boards of Review. John was also active in several civic and religious organizations including Rotary and First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon. He was also Empower Me Day Camp's biggest fan supporting his wife's efforts to help special needs children. John is the Grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. O. Reed Hill and Charlie and Christine Teasley, all of Lebanon. He is survived by his wife Michelle Judy Hill, son John Reed Hill, III, and daughter Rylee Day Hill of Lebanon; his parents, John and Bettie Hill of Lebanon and Monteagle; his brother Dr. Keith Hill, wife Angel, their children Lilly, Mallory, Luke, Jake, and Tommy Hill of Elmwood, TN; his brother Hugh Hill, and his children Charlie, Eliza, and Mattie Hill of Louisville, KY; and dozens of loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Dr. John Gallaher, Hugh Hill, Dr. Keith Hill, David Judy, Jim Powell, Dr. Hardie Sorrels, Charlie Teasley, and Thomas Teasley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Adams, John Bradshaw, Bob Clower, Tonya Denny, George Gebhardt, John Haslup, Charlie Hill, Ken Howell, Paul Howell, Jim Mills, Mike Mohr, Larry Oberlin, Carl Ragland, Reed Working. Visitation will be at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 3 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be at First Presbyterian Church, Lebanon, on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 11 am, with visitation preceding from 10 am to 11 am at the Church. Internment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
