Obituary of Betty Lou Neely

NEELY, Betty Lou, age 80 of Lavergne passed away November 26, 2011. Mrs. Neely was born on August 30, 1931 in Stewart County, TN. Betty was a retired homemaker and member of the Lavergne Church of Christ. She leaves behind a host of family and friends. Survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James E. Neely; daughters, Deborah J. (Mike) Elkins and Rebecca A. Page; son, Jeffery E. (Donna) Neely; grandchildren, Telisha (Brad) Gaines, Angela (Danny) Elkins; James (Kate) Neely, Travis (Brandi) Page, Edward (Crystal) Elkins, and Bruce Wilson; and 13 great-grandchildren. Betty was blessed to have 2 families with 7 brothers and sisters on the Link side and 10 brothers and sisters on the Wallace side. Preceded in death by father, Erskin Link; mother, Mabel Wallace; paternal grandparents, Pete and Gertrude Link; and grandson, Chad L. Nash. Special thanks to Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus for making her last days so special. Also, thanks to the staff of the Smyrna Town Center for keeping her so well fed for the past year. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29th at 1 pm at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Lowry St, Smyrna, TN with Bro. Phil Dunn officiating. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN with James Neely, Edward Elkins, Danny Campbell, Brad Gaines and Travis Page serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be at Woodfin Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 28th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Tuesday, November 29th from 11 am until time of service.
