Obituary of Curtis D. Hollopeter

The nation is a lesser place today with the loss of another one if its "Greatest Generation." Born in the Roaring Twenties, survived the Great Depression, served in combat in World War II, a beloved husband and father, an honored grandfather and great grandfather, Curtis D. (Curt) Hollopeter passed to his eternal rest at 7:00 A.M. September 3, 2009. Mr. Hollopeter was preceded in death by his wife, Laura J. (June) of Lebanon, his parents, Clayton D. and Nellie Hollopeter of Toledo, Ohio, and a granddaughter, Kristin Hollopeter of Toledo. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Hinkle, Temple, TX, four children, Suzanne (Ed) Erdmann of Austin, TX; Jodi (Jerry) Davis of Mt. Juliet; Dina (Mike) Bozsoki of Lebanon, and Craig Hollopeter (Carol) of Toledo; six grandchildren, Jay, Andy and Emily Erdmann, Jennifer Davis-Kelley and Jessica Gould, and Tim Hollopeter. He also has seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Josh, Erin, Maddie, Emma, Ben and Oliver. Mr. Hollopeter, a Protestant, was a charter member of the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587 in Toledo, Ohio. His prior affiliations include the Toledo local, the Ohio state, and the national chapters of the Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Association. He also contributed to the regional and national Wholesale Pharmaceutical Associations. While mourning the loss of its patriarch, the family plans to privately honor his memory and celebrate his life at a place and time yet to be determined.
