Obituary of Tatum Clay Wesley

TATUM, Clay Wesley Wes "Red" Tatum passed away on April 21, 2009 at age 95. He lived in Wilson County all of his life. He was a retired farmer, school bus driver and worked at the Garment Factory. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ, Lebanon Senior Citizens, and a former "mayor" of Possum Town. The family will be accepting friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. The church service, conducted by Brother Todd Elliott and Brother Greg Smith, is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Berea Church of Christ in Lebanon. Interment in Watson Cemetery. Pallbearers: Derrick Knowles, Joe Simms, Butch Reed, Donnie Bain, Bill McGowan, John Hittle, Jason Williams, John Harlin, and Jason Denton. Honorary Pallbearers: Tommy Knowles, John Bale, J.D. Carr, Billy Sullivan, and Tom Sanders. Memorial Donations are suggested to The National Parkinson Foundation, Inc (Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave, Bob Hope Rd, Miami FL 33136-1494, 800.327.4545), and/or the Berea Church of Christ Building Fund ( 50 Berea Church Road, Lebanon TN 37087, 615.443.2232) Survivors include son Gary Wayne (Sue) Tatum of Lebanon; brother Charlie (Elizabeth) Tatum; sister Frances Ann Brown; 7 grandchildren: Lia Hittle, Gara Williams, Mona Dill Steinke, Randall Alexander, Rex Alexander, Lynn Jenkinses, and Tina Sliger; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends from Berea Church of Christ and Possum Town. He is preceded in death by wife of 65 years Elizabeth Hester Tatum, daughter Martha Clay White, parents Jesse Lee and Melinda Jane Midgett Tatum, brother Carl Eli Tatum, and sisters Stella Bly and Etta Lee Ozment.
