Obituary of Archie Creede Moore

Archie Creede Moore, Jr., age 90 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30th at Gallatin First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Yarborough and Dr. Steve Nelson officiating. Entombment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Mark Cannon, Ryan Gilland, Cliff Nelson, Daniel Gilland, Michael Rice and Paul Foskett serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29th from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and Monday, March 30th from 9:30 a.m. until time to leave for the church. Mr. Moore was born November 7, 1924 in Wayne County, TN, son of the late Archie Creede Moore, Sr. and Bessie Gideon Rhinehart Moore. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Jones Moore; daughter, Anita Gilland; brothers, Roy H. Moore, Lon E. Moore and Jack R. Moore; sister, Mary Len Harkey. He is survived by daughters, Theresa Cannon (Mark) of Nashville and Marty Nelson (Steve) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Shauna Rogers, Allie Nelson, Ryan Gilland (Niki), Daniel Gilland (Leigh) and Cliff Nelson (Lindsey); great grandchildren, Tristan Rogers, Lylah Gilland, Aubrey Gilland and Cason Gilland. Mr. Moore served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and retired from T.V.A. after 35 years. Also, he was a Deacon at Gallatin First Baptist Church.
