Obituary of James Rudolph Gober

James Rudolph Gober, age 69 of Portland, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 19th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Farthing. Interment will follow in Bethel Road Church Cemetery in Ridgetop with James Gober, Timmy Ashworth, Jason Ashworth, Barry High, Chad High, Cord High and Brent Simon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Garrick Gober. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 19th from 12:00 noon until time of service. Mr. Gober was born June 26, 1945 in Robertson County, TN, son of the late Coy and Pauline Gober. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, David Allen Gober; sisters, Vera Mae Dickens and Betty Booker; grandson, Christopher Gober. He is survived by sons, James Gober, Jr. and Chris Gober (Kim Wray); friend, Deborah Johnson; grandchildren, Garrick Gober, Michael Gober and April Gober; great grandchildren, Dallas Gober, Tabitha and Jessica Reed, Mackenzie Luna; brothers, Kenneth Dale Gober (Bessie) of White House, Dale Gober (Betty) of Westmoreland, Jerry Gober (Stephanie) of Hartsville, William Gober (Mary Jo) of Portland; sisters, Lila Caudill (Michael), Pam High, Shelia Simon, all of Portland, Thersia Hobdy (Jerry); a host of nephews and nieces.
