Obituary of Jewell Dean Tomlinson

Jewell Tomlinson passed away in her home after an extended illness on January 7, 2011 at age 84. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 11 a.m. " 6 p.m. Sunday, January 9th and from noon until service on Monday. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Don McElroy and Brother David Freeman, is 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2011. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service. Pallbearers: Phill Hearn, Tommy Hearn, Joe Midgett, Bernie Ash, Steve Hornsby, Buck Chambers, and Chris Chambers. Memorial Donations: Boy"s Town (boystown.org or 800.448.3000). Mrs. Tomlinson was born June 23, 1926 in the Rome Community to the late C.S. and Ruby Chambers. She retired after 40 years with At&T, was a member of Lebanon"s First Baptist Church, the Donnell Sunday School Class and Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include sons: Tony Hearn and Ronnie (Renee") Hearn, all of Lebanon; grandchildren: Steven and Josh Hearn, Jamie (Travis) McKnight; great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Logan, Lane, Marissa, and Shannon Hearn, Hunter and Cutler McKnight; siblings: Mary Elizabeth Hornsby, Bobby (Dorothy) Chambers, and Jimmy (Jamie) Chambers; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents C.S. and Ruby Holladay Chambers, husbands Steven E. Hearn and A.J. Tomlinson, and son Bobby Hearn.
