Obituary of Paul G. Ferguson

Paul G. Ferguson, age 92 of Gallatin, passed away Friday August 21, 2015. Funeral Service will be Friday, August 28th at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Jerry Nelson, Glen Hammock, Don Boze, Steve Graves, Tommy Tucker and Mark Mundy. Honorary pallbearers will be Van Conder, Jared Fitch, Jerry McDaniel, Alan McKnight, Dr. J. D. Cox, Steve Tucker and Alan McKnight. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Also, visitation will be Friday, August 28th from 12:00 noon until time of service. Ferguson was born August 13, 1923 in Macon County to the late Herman Ferguson and Ruth M. West Ferguson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by wife Virginia Rippy Ferguson; grandson, Brandon Ferguson; brothers, Stanton Ferguson and Casper “Bud” Mundy; and sister Gladys Hooper. He is survived by sons, Paul Glenn Ferguson (Sissy) of Gallatin and Phillip Gray Ferguson of Gallatin; daughters, Pam Ferguson of Gallatin; 4 grandchildren, Stephen Ferguson, Jessica Alley (Chad), Carly Tompkins (Doobie), and Zach Ferguson; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan Hodges, Haden Hodges, and Tyler Ferguson. He served in the United States Navy, was President of the Sumner County Shriner Club in 1993, and was a member of the Quarterback Club and Gallatin Rotary, and owner of Ferguson Trucking for over 40 years.
