Obituary of Vicky McAlpin Tubb

TUBB, Vicky McAlpin, who carried peace and love in abundance during her walk on this Earth, finished her work early and passed away on October 6, 2015. She was 57. Vicky was a master healer, whether in her calling as a licensed massage therapist, in fellowship at Providence United Methodist Church, or simply in conversation with friends old and new. Birds across the country will mourn the loss of the photographer who knew just how to capture their beauty and grace. Vicky was born in Nashville on Sept. 3, 1958, where she grew up with her mother, Lillie Clair Page, and her stepfather, Charlie Page. After graduating from John Overton High School, Vicky worked as an orthodontic assistant while raising her daughter, Lindsey, in Crieve Hall. After earning her massage therapist license, Vicky established her practice in Murfreesboro, where she worked for nearly 20 years. Her professional expertise and caring spirit helped heal and uplift many who came to know her as a close and trusted friend. Later in life, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Dean Tubb, and they married in 2011. Vicky is preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Clair; her father, Vic McAlpin; and her stepfather, Charlie. Vicky is survived by her husband, Dean; her daughter, Lindsey Michelle Harris (Colby Sledge); her sisters, Tavara Peets (Lawson) and Linda Wood Finley (Boyd); and several nephews, nieces and stepchildren. Hundreds of Vicky's best friends will gather for visitation on Saturday, Oct. 10th, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 11th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.
