Obituary of Walter A. Sherouse

Walter Sherouse, age 69, of Lebanon, passed away on December 22, 2015. The Memorial Service is 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. The family will be receiving friends from noon until the service on Monday. Mr. Sherouse is survived by: wife: Joan Olson Sherouse; children: John Sherouse (Sarah) and Stephen Sherouse; siblings: Marlene Walters, Viola Roach, Billy Sherouse, Betty Ann Bishop (Dave), Debbie Gabenstien, Alene Williston, Betty Lou Sherouse, Susan Reviss, Linda “LG” Sisson (Gil), Steven Sherouse (Janet), and Michelle Reel (Steve); and grandchildren: Braden and Taylor Sherouse. He is preceded in death by parents John and Betty Sherouse, siblings Robert Brock, Johnny Brock, Carol Matthews, and Marvin G. Sherouse. Walt was a fun loving guy and shared many jokes and funny stories with his family and friends. He was a people person, who could always make others laugh through any situation. He loved to fish, watch Nascar racing, work in the garden and enjoyed watching Sunday football, especially the San Francisco 49ers! Walt dearly loved his sons, John and Stephen and his grandchildren, Braden and Taylor, and would always think of ways for them to have fun. Walt was the proud owner of Cumberland Garage Builders, and truly enjoyed working with each and every one of his customers. He was friend to all who knew him and his honesty and integrity will long be remembered. As many have said, he could brighten your day with a short conversation full of shared laughs. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and/or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
