Obituary of Dennis Stewart Scholl

SCHOLL, Dennis Stewart, age 49 of Mt. Juliet, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 7th at 2pm at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, February 6th from 5-9 pm at Sellars at Mt. Juliet and Sunday from 1pm until time of service at 2pm at the church. He was born May 6, 1966 at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia to Stewart W. Scholl and Kathleen Fullerton Scholl. Mr. Scholl graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with bachelors and master’s degrees in engineering. He was a self-employed general contractor in Mt. Juliet. He was an avid hunter, loved to fly fish, and adored spending family time boating, swimming, and watching baseball. One of his passions was working with The Gideons International organization. As a believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, he made a personal commitment to spread the Gospel of Christ to all people so that they may also know him as their personal Savior. He was a member of the Hermitage Church of the Nazarene. Dennis was a devoted father, loving husband, and faithful friend to those privileged to know him. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Scottie Wilkerson Scholl; son, Campbell James Scholl, a junior at the University of Central Florida in Orlando; daughter, Madeline Grace Scholl, a freshman at the University of Tennessee; mother and stepfather, Kathleen & Maurice Gilbert of Seagrove Beach, FL; father, Stewart Scholl of Little Rock, AR, sister, Rev. Lia Scholl of Winston-Salem, NC; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Wayne & Nancy Wilkerson of Hermitage, grandmother, Charlotte Foxwell of Seagrove Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Janet Wilkerson, Susan (Rob) Moore, and Amy (Paul) Baker; and step-sister, Lisa Smith.
