Obituary of Winifred Ireland

Winifred Ireland, born on February 23, 1947 in Cannan CT, passed away on March 25, 2016 in Lebanon TN. Raised in foster care most of her life, Winifred grew up not knowing her other brother and sisters. Later in life, she found her baby brother Robert Bates of Delhi NY, other brother Len Bates in Wensor CT, and sister Eleanor Klug in Wheeling WV. Her father, Joseph Wheaton Bates, had passed away on November 25, 1997; her mother, Josephine McGee, had passed away years before. Winifred graduated from Arlington HS, Class of 1963 and went to DCC P/T for a degree in Mental Health for Youth. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Terrie Klug who passed away last year. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Ireland whom she married on December 22, 1992 in Pough NY by J.P. Tom Reed. They moved to their current residence on Flat Rock Road in Lebanon, Smith County TN on September 11, 2001. Mrs. Ireland passed of IPF Scarring of the lung, of which there is no cure at this time. A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date. The burial will be private. Special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Anderson and the staff at University Medical Center.
