Obituary of Leonard G. Norris, Jr.

Leonard G. “Buddy” Norris, Jr., age 74 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday July 9, 2016. Funeral Service will be Wednesday July 13th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Stake President Peter Abernathy, Bishop Clark Maxfield, and Best Friend, Ron Wade officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens, with Daniel Norris, Cameron Gunderson, Taylor Norris, Trey Davis, Lee Sweeney, and Todd Norris serving as pallbearers. rONNIE nORRIS WILL SERVE AS AN HONORARY PALLBEARER. Visitation will be Wednesday July 13th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Norris was born August 2, 1941 in Davidson County, to the late Leonard Griffin Norris, Sr. and Oma Brewer Norris. He is survived by wife of 56 years, Jean W. Norris of Gallatin; children, Randy Gene Norris (Karen) of Brandon, MISS, Denise Gunderson (Tracy) of Adairville, KY, Tina Norris (Ashley Gordon) of Hendersonville, and Ricky D. Norris of Gallatin; brother, Ronnie Norris (Patsy) of White House; sisters, Judy Jones of Nashville, and Dot Merryman (Bill) of Hendersonville; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Norris-Harris, Daniel Norris, Paige Gunderson, Cameron Gunderson, Trey Davis, Brooke Davis, Taylor Norris, and Katie Norris; and 3 great grandchildren, Morgan Harris, Maddie Harris, and Issak Harris. Mr. Norris military service includes the following: US Army 6 years active duty serving overseas in Germany during the Berlin Crisis, US National Guard 8 years and won the Edwin Norman award, Awarded the Military expert marksmanship award, awarded the most outstanding soldier of the battalion.
