Obituary of Lora Burton Haney

HANEY, Lora Burton, age 98, of Mt. Juliet passed away September 29, 2016. Mrs. Haney was a member of the Mt. Juliet – West Wilson Historical Society; Ladies Hermitage Association: D.A.R.; U.D.C.; Delta Kappa Gamma; Century Farm, which she owned and lived on; Retired Teachers of Wilson County; Martha LaGuardo Club; and Member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as organist, pianist, library committee, Elder, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Haney’s interests include family history, traveling, working outside and music. Preceded in death by husband, Paul Haney; siblings, Joe and Sam Burton and Nelle Williams; son, Bill Haney; great-grandson, Paul James Wactor; and parents, Rufe and Lora Burton. Mrs. Haney is survived by children; Phil Haney, Richard (Stethney) Haney and Gena (David) Sloan; grandchildren; Becky (John) Gravely; Brian (Carey) Haney; Paul (Trisha) Haney; Heather Haney Rivas; Brad ( Rachelle) Haney; Lora (Joe) Wactor; Josh (Jessica) Sloan; Andrew (Chelsey) Sloan; step-grandchildren; Christin (Micah) Miller; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm, at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet, with Bro. Mike Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Burton Family Cemetery with Brian, Paul and Brad Haney, Josh and Andrew Sloan, John and Ben Gravely and Joe Wactor serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are previous and current elders of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Caregivers. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 1st from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Sunday, October 2nd from 1:00 pm, until time of Service.
