Obituary of Evelyn Christine Smith

Evelyn Christine Smith, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Monday October 24, 2016. Funeral Service will be Thursday October 27th at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Bro. Tracy Carter and Bro. Joe Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday October 26th from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday October 27th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Smith was born November 15, 1928 in Sumner County to the late Loyd Witt and Mollie Stephens Witt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Luther Smith; daughter, Debbie Slusher; sister, Dora Franklin; and brother, Dee Witt. She is survived by sons, Allen Taylor (Kim) of South Carolina and Loyd Smith of Westmoreland; daughters, Josie Davis (Highland) of Bethpage and Molliann Smith of Portland; son-in-law, Greg Slusher of Gallatin; brother, Homer Witt; 10 grandchildren, Lee Slusher (Laura), Eric Slusher (Amanda), Sean Slusher, Nicholas Tuttle (Kandi), Stacy Tuttle (Valerie), Amber Holder (Devon), Kaydee Taylor, Chad Taylor, Brookelyn Smith, and Breanna Smith.; and 10 great grandchildren, Alex, Tia, Deacon, Sarah Grace, Peyton, Caleb, Grayson, Evelyse, Emy, and Zek.
