Obituary of Mabel Hughes Durham Lee

Mabel Hughes Durham Lee, age 98 of Portland, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2016. Funeral Service will be Saturday November 12th at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Bro. Ronnie Briley and Bro. Stacey Durham officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Stacey Durham, Andrew Durham, Nathan Durham, Shawn Kirkham, John Parker, Chris Hewell, and Bryson Hewell serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday November 11th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday November 12th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Lee was born September 1, 1918 in Sumner County to the late Grover Cleveland Hughes and Eleanor Ann Ryan Hughes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Thurman Durham; second husband, Jessie Lee; son, Ronnie Durham; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Durham; son-in-law, Earl Kirkham; and sister, Frances Briley. She is survived by children, Ann Kirkham of Portland, Earl Ray Durham (Shirley) of Portland, and Blaine Durham of Portland; sister, Bessie Piper of Gallatin; 5 grandchildren, Angela Kirkham Brown (Charles), Shawn Kirkham (Rebecca), Stacey Durham (Valerie), Lisa Hewell (Chris), and Taylor Durham Parker (John); and 7 great grandchildren, Andrew Durham, Nathan Durham, Anna Durham, Bryson Hewell, Lauren Hewell, Eleanor Kirkham, and Elizabeth Kirkham.
