Obituary of Grace Kirk Hale

Ms. Grace Kirk Hale - age 85 of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at The Palace Care and Rehab in Red Boiling Springs. Funeral Services for Ms. Grace Kirk Hale were conducted Friday at 11:30 from the Day's Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Jimmy Claiborne officiating. George M. Hale, Gunter Hale, Joey Burgener, Jeff McPherson, Jonothan Perrigo, and Randall Terry served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery. Ms. Grace Kirk Hale was born on April 19, 1926 in Floresville, Kentucky to the late Ernest and Gove Smith Kirk. She was a member of Days Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Grace was married to George "Cotton" Hale on August 25, 1944, sharing fifty-eight years together and raising five children, Cotton preceded her in death on July 9th, 2003. Besides her husband and parents; one daughter, Linda L. Bergner, three brothers, Leo, Hayward, and Easley Kirk, three sisters, Ruby Karee, Eva Fortner, and Faye Aubrey, also preceded her in death. She worked throughout her life in many public jobs including (locally) Osh-Kush, Druthers, and Macon County General Hospital. Many people called her "Amazing Grace". She was always quick to smile and lend a helping hand to others. Mrs. Hale is survived by; Daughters, Pat (Bill) Tackett of Virden, IL, Ann (Doug) Clark of Urbana, IL, and Sabrina Bowman of Goodlettsville, TN, Son, Marshall Hale of Cleveland, Ohio, Sisters, Hazel Terry, and Mary Boswell both of Louisville, KY, Brothers, Bill Kirk of Louisville, KY, and Kirby Kirk of Jeffersonville, IN, Grandchildren, Joey (Angie) Burbener of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Jennifer (Jeff) McPherson, Jamie (Bobby) Hagan, and Shawna Wix all of Lafayette, TN, Jonothan Perrigo, and Jeremiah Bowman both of Goodlettsville, TN, Mychelle (Eric) Harbaeur of Chatham, IL, Kim (Chris) Evangelisti of Savoy, IL, Doug Clark of Crawfordsville, IN, Amy (Ron) Phares of Mankato, MN, Gunter Hale of Columbia, TN, twenty-seven Great-grandchildren, numerous Nieces, and Nephews, also survive.
