Obituary of Cephias Farr Hemby

MR. CEPHIAS FARR HEMBY, JR - age 52 of the Dark Hollow Road in Lafayette, Tennessee passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Cephias Farr Hemby, Jr., were conducted Friday, September 2nd at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of the Hoffmeister Mortuary in St. Louis Missouri. Interment followed in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with Military Honors. On March 15, 1959, Cephias was born in Jonesboro City, Arkansas to Patsy Sue Lewis Hemby and the late Cephias Farr Hemby, Sr. There were six siblings born to this union. From January 19, 1978 until May 6, 2003, Cephias made his career in the United States Army and continued in the National Guard; until he became disabled. He accomplished the position of Sergeant during his time in the service. Cephias wore his uniform proudly and served his country with honor. Cephias has three daughters by a previous marriage and a step-daughter; that he loved dearly. He was of the Lutheran belief. Cephias will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind; Wife, Diane Hemby of Lafayette, TN, Mother, Patsy Sue Hemby, Daughters, Kristen, Tara, and Kayla Hemby, Step-Daughter, Sarah Lynn Mintz, Brother, Michael Scott Hemby, Sisters, Lena Renee Taylor, Sandra Leanean Zwick, Janice Kay Boyer, and Lisa Joann Mandina, Grandsons, Jesse Gibbs and soon to arrive baby boy Kylin Cephias Lucas, and several nieces and nephews.
