Gracie Mai Graham was born on August 8, 1933 in Trousdale County, Tennessee to the late Tommy Ellis and Eva Louise Gregory Ellis. She was married to John Oakley Graham on December 30, 1950 sharing twenty-five years together and raising two children, John and Merilyn. Her husband preceded her in death on July 4, 1976. Besides her husband and parents; grandson, Curt Graham, brothers, Thomas Ellis, William Ellis, Woodrow Ellis, Roberton Ellis, and James Ellis, sisters, Janeva Scruggs, MaryLee Jenkins, Nannie D. Woodard, and Fannie Dixon, also preceded Gracie in death. She worked for Trousdale Manufacturing in Hartsville as an inspector for several years, but more importantly she was a housewife and mother. Gracie's family meant everything to her. Cooking for the family and gathering them around the kitchen table were the happiest times for Gracie. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren kept her busy, but she loved every minute that she spent with them. Gracie's spare time was spent canning vegetables out of her garden and working in her flower beds. Gracie was saved as a young woman at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church and later in 1944 joined Dixon Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member. She loved having company over and her guest always enjoyed their time with Gracie. Her fun loving personality was pleasant to be around. Gracie will be deeply missed by family and friends, but our loss is Heaven's gain.
