Obituary of Mike Johnson

MIKE "KILLER" JOHNSON - age 54 of Lafayette, TN passed away early Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services for Mike "Killer" Johnson will be conducted Friday, December 9 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jeff Blackwell officiating. Serving as pallbearers were; Jerry Hall, Matt Hall, Dalton Hall, Joe Eden, Keith Bradley and Jake Bradley. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Mike was born on February 27, 1957 in Overton County, Tennessee to Norma Jean White Johnson and the late Paul Johnson. He was one of two siblings born to this union. On December 6, 2011 at the age of 54, Mike went home to be with the Lord. Mike married the love of his life, the former Rebecca "Becky" Brawner on December 31, 1993, sharing seventeen years together. Mike and Becky were seldom seen apart and were always found loving life. Mike enjoyed being involved in community activities. He was a member of the Lions Club where he was always ready to help in any way. Mike was a Macon County Volunteer Fire Fighter and also on the Macon County Rescue Squad. For over twenty years he had been a member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge # 543. No matter what the cause Mike and Becky were always ready to help. He worked for a while as a Dispatcher for Overton County Sheriff's Department over seventeen years and Macon County Sheriff's Department for several years, before becoming disabled. He was saved at the age of 13 and a member of the Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church # 2. Mike will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and community. He is survived by; Wife, Becky Brawner Johnson of Lafayette, TN, Mother, Norma Jean Johnson, Brother, Barry (Teresa) Johnson, Nephew, Caleb Johnson, several Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law also survive.
